Social education deals with, in first place, working with juvenile and mature delinquents, although it also works with the under-aged and families at risk, moving on towards aspects of victimology (Mistreatment of women and children). This demands knowledge of literature about the factors associated with the development of social deviation, as well as knowledge about those that protect these social pathologies (protection factors or of ôresistanceö). The educator will also study issues related with prediction, the characteristics of the most effective rehabilitation programs, and he/she will dedicate a substantial part to working with treatment techniques, applying them to uder-aged people at risk, youths and violent adults, chronic, sexual criminals, with mental pathologies and personality disturbances. From among the intervention technology, the models that are used to elaborate an individualized educational program stand out, and the learning of motivation techniques and cognitive-conductual treatment, specially the multi-system therapy and Glasser's ôreality therapyö. |
