| Some topics of Physic related to the Pharmaceutical Sciences which the student has not usually dealt with in previous courses will be included in the first quarter of the course. This way, there is a first block of topics dedicated to the study of fluids and their applications. In the second block the concept of wave will be revised and it will be applied to the study of the sound and audition ; lastly, the third block is dedicated to the introduction of calorimetry and the study of the fundamental concepts of Classic Thermodynamics (First and Second laws). In the second quarter, Physical Chemistry, the classic notions of Thermodynamics will be applied to the study of different processes such as reaction heats and spontaneity of the processes, phases equilibria in systems of one and two components , properties of solutions and chemical equilibrium. The chemical kinetics of simple and complex reactions, the influence of the temperature on the reaction rate and the use of different types of catalysts also will be studied. The course is completed studying the surface phenomena (adsorption) and transport (diffusion). |
