To acquire the knowledge corresponding to the physical bases of the techniques used in Radiology and Physical Medicine. Theory Programme Programme of RADIOLOGICAL MEDICAL PHYSICS Lesson 1. - Origin and content of the Radiological Medical Physics. ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION X-RAYS PHYSICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE RADIODIAGNOSIS NUCLEAR STRUCTURE RADIOACTIVE DISINTEGRATION NUCLEAR REACTIONS ARTIFICIAL RADIOACTIVITY. RADIOISOTOPES DOSIMETRY OF THE IONIZING RADIATIONS Practicals Programme LABORATORY PRACTICALS 1. - Experimental confirmation of the law of Stefan-Boltzmann, base of the thermography and of the law of geometric attenuation of the radiation. Objectives: the aim is to make the students check experimentally the foundations of the thermography, determining the dependence between the emission power of a body and its surface temperature. Besides, they should determine the function that governs the variation of the radiation intensity when going away from the emitter focus. 2. - Study of the radiological contrast and comparison of different radiographic techniques: Computerized simulation.
