| When finishing the course the student should be capable of: * To define the concept and to identify the uses of the epidemiology in the clinical practice and in the biomedical investigation. * To describe the demographic characteristics of populations, calculating and interpreting the main demographic indicators. * To know the main sources of epidemiological information, * To identify and to analyze the main designs of epidemiological investigation * To apply the epidemiological method to the taking of clinical decisions. * To acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge, and to develop the dexterities and attitudes that qualify him/her to understand and to explore the different factors implied in health and illness. * To know how to describe, analyze and interpret the epidemiological phenomena. * To adopt a preventive attitude in their professional practice, considering the assistance aspect. * To collaborate in the populational Sanitary Education. * To collaborate to the populational sanitary and socioeconomic development.
