The main goal of Molecular Biology is to develop the molecular bases of the form, function and evolution of living beings. This definition includes a Molecular Biology in the wider sense, however there is a current of thought, mainly, among those who investigate the molecular mechanisms responsible of the storage and transmission of the genetic information, to consider in a restrictive form, that Molecular Biology has as a main objective the study of the nature and mechanisms of the transmission of transmission of the genetic information. To carry out the selection of the program contents we have decided to include the contents of which would be a Molecular Biology in the restrictive sense with the addition of some subjects not usually explained in other Molecular Biology courses. The objectives in this course are that the student broadly understands the molecular processes involved in the storage, transmission and deciphering of genetic information; the knowledge of recombinant DNA technology and their applications in Biomedicine and Pharmacy. |
