Met. Docent
Theoretical and practical courses (11 theorics and 5 practical credits). Computer practices are programmed in experimental pharmacology and pharmaceutical care. Drug-related problem solving and searching for drug information are some of the activities in practical sessions.
Met. Avaluació

Continguts
The program of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy can be divided into three areas:

1.- General principles of Pharmacology
Basic concepts of Pharmacology, general principles of Pharmacokinetics and aspects of Molecular Pharmacology (mechanisms of drug action). Pharmacological interactions and adverse reactions.

2.- Special Pharmacology
Therapeutic groups will be described for different organic systems and pathologies, covering: mechanisms of drug action, pharmacological effects, pharmacokinetic properties, adverse drug reactions and therapeutic applications.

3.- Clinical Pharmacy
Aspects of Clinical Pharmacy: clinical assays, Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance, rational use of drug. Concept and methods in Pharmaceutical care: active dispensing, counselling and drug therapy follow-up.
Objetius
Main learning objective of Pharmacology is the knowledge of therapeutic groups, their mechanisms of action and effects that sustain their therapeutic indications and adverse reactions. Main learning objective of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical care is to promote the adequate and safe use of medicines. Future pharmacist must acquire the ability-capacity to find, integrate and apply drugs information to solve pharmacotherapeutic problems, to ensure that a patientÆs drug therapy is appropriately indicated and to counsel the patient about the medication.
