| The objective of the subject is to help History of Art students to know how this discipline has been built up over time and the main alternatives that it offers at present. When analyzing the history of the subject History of Art the student will be able to study texts and see how different visions of the subject have evolved over time, the influence of which continue today, with the due transformations. From the first formulations of Vasari, passing through positivism, the philological method, the formalist models, the history of culture or social history, iconography and iconology, the influence of psychoanalysis, structuralism or semiology. This way the student will be able to become familiar with the work of the great art historians. |
