Extensive subject dedicated to a historical journey on the planning theories and applications evolved from the Ancient times. The contents begin with the analysis of the Greek and Roman classic planning pattern and especially the appearance of the hipodámica plant in retícula. From the Middle Ages the different urban typologies, the cities of organic growth, the new cities and the Islamic pattern are analyzed. The Modern World allows to study the theoreticals of the urbanism and the great applications from the theory to cities or states like Rome, Paris, Versailles, London, Spain and USA. The city of the XIX century analyzes the utopias and the most important planning performances of Paris, Vienna, Barcelona, as well as the lineal city, the garden city and the industrial city. Finally, in the XX century we analyze the planning contributions of Le Corbusier, Wright, the case of Amsterdam, London and the new English cities, the case of Brasilia and the urbanism in the third world.
