| The subject covers a relatively recent period of great social and cultural importance which influenced the development of contemporary European art. From the first Russian social movements of the XIX century to the post Stalinist soviet art, specific periods and currents will be studied: historical vanguard art in Russia, the 1917 revolutions and the Stalin era up until the end of the régime in 1991. The inclusion of some chapters on Russian history are necessary to gain a full understanding of the cultural and artistic movements that took place. |
