The subject includes the artistic manifestations from the XIII to the XV centuries in Valencia, Castellon and Alicante, with a syllabus divided into two different parts. The first part covers a single theme, of structural type, which includes extensive topics that affect the whole period, such as the historical situation of the Kingdom, the role of the constituents and the artists or the sources available in order to research into Valencian Gothic Art. In the second part, which is organized chronologically, three periods are studied: the period of formation, in which most of the works and artists came from outside the region (until the first third of the XIV century); the Mature Gothic, which developed in local schools (up to 1430); and the Late Gothic with the Nordic influence and the development of the peculiar "flamígero valenciano" or flamboyant Valencian Gothic style. |
