The subject "History of Figurative XVIth Century Italian Art" studies the Italian painters and sculptors from the beginning of the XVI century until approximately 1570 when the Renaissance gave way to the Baroque period. Being the most exuberant century in artistic creations, it is only possible to dedicate the course to the study of painting and sculpture, and even so, in a limited way as it is impossible to go into more depth in only 45 hours. The program focuses on the development of Renaissance art in Florence, Rome and Venice, mainly, without neglecting others such as Ferrara, Mantua, Parma or Urbino. In all of these schools of art, benefactors were fundamental for artistic revelation. |
