The course's main objective aims to offer students a basic understanding of historical development during the Modern Era. Students will also improve their reading, comprehension and expression skills through the use of specific bibliography on the subject. The course promotes student learning in the following areas: European history between the XVI and XVIII centuries, with comparisons with development in other areas of the world during the same period. The most important aspects of study are as follows: - European expansion and the imact of new world economy on production in Europe. - Society of classes: characteristics of rural and urban society and their conflicts. - Organization of political power, new monarchies the power, absolutism and cultured reform of the Enlightment. - Constitution of interstate system and consolidation of international equilibrium. - The rupture of Christian unity and the secularization of thought process. |
