The subject's objective is to give students a vision of the wars that took place in ancient history, wars that had a serious impact on the states that generated them or on those that suffered them. With this backdrop the central matter of the subject derives toward the social, economic and political motivations that gave to military confrontation. Another aspect of study is the social, economic and political panorama at the end of a conflict, both in the countries that conquered and those conquered, and as a result new the political maps. Our study will focus mainly on the civilizations of Greece, Rome and Iberian Peninsula, although some conflicts in the Near East will also be covered.
