Regional Geography studies a defined and continuous territory, of variable extension, characterized by a peculiar combination of physical and human elements which provide it with a differentiated personality of its own. The contents of this subject will consist on the study of the Regional Geography of the Valencian Community. This will allow students to learn the particularities of their nearest geographical space, the valencian space, in comparison with other Spanish regions and with neighbouring areas of the European Union - highlighting its role as an exporter of consumption goods to the entire world. A fundamental aim of the subject is to enable students to apply their cartographic skills on the regional geography by means of different types of maps, based on their theoretical knowledge on Valencia. On the other hand, another objective is to make students carry out a small investigation work on their district or municipality, where they can apply their cartographic skills and their theoretical knowledge on Regional Geography to a small scale. |
