Regional Geography studies a defined and continuous territory, of variable extension, characterized by a peculiar combination of physical and human elements, which denote their own, particular personality. The contents of this subject include studying the Regional Geography of the "Communidad Valenciana" (Valencia, Castellon and Alicante), so students can learn the particularities of their surrounding geographical area, also comparing their region with other autonomous communities, neighboring areas of the European Union and highlighting its role as exporter of consumer goods to the whole world. It also gives high-priority to teaching students to apply their cartographic abilities, using their theoretical knowledge about Valencia, to our region's geography, by means of maps with different topology. On the other hand, another objective of the subject is that students should carry out a small research work on their district or municipality, in which they can apply their cartographic abilities and theoretical knowledge of Regional Geography to a small scale. |
