The content of this subjet is organized in a way that will prepare students who are intending to take the official examination leading to a profession teaching Geography and the History in the Spanish school system, providing them an integrated and updated vision of the different territories that constitute the country. Topics have been organized in two main units: the physical focus (the territorial base) and the anthropological focus: (the society that configures and adapts the territory to its necessities), although both aspects are present in each one of the topics as necessary from a geographical perspective. In the first unit topics relative to formation and disposition of territorial relief are approached in order to explain the territorial connections and future localization of activities. Climatic aspects are another important part of this unit; its diversity in a relatively reduced space and problems associated to this diversity (the difference between humid and dry parts of Spain make hydrological policies necessary, that often cause conflict). The second block is constituted by three topics: population (main historical and recent demographic indicators, evolution and current system of cities, relationship between rural areas and cities), regional inequalities and improvement policies (with special emphasis on the territorial cohesion principle in the context of a compound State) and characteristics of the production structure (sectoral analysis). |
