Subject content has been organized to prepare students who intend to take the official Spanish examination leading to professional teaching of Geography and History in the Spanish public education system, providing them with a global vision and up to date information on the different territories in Spain. Topics have been divided into two main units: physical focus (territorial aspects) and anthropological focus (society that configures and adapts the territory to its necessities), although both aspects are present in each one of the topics from a geographical perspective. In the first unit physical aspects of terrain, relief and formation, will explain the territorial connections and future localization of activities. Climatic issues will also be approached (great climatic diversity in a relatively reduced area) and problems that such diversity causes (the differences between humid and dry areas of Spain call for hydrological policies that often cause conflict). The second unit is made up of three topics: population (historical and recent evolution of main demographic indicators, evolution and issues related to current system of cities, relationship between rural areas and cities), regional inequalities and the correcting policies (with special emphasis on the principle of territorial cohesion in the context of a compound State) and productive structure characteristics (sectorial analysis).
