This subject takes a look at different models of reflection through history, concentrating especially on recognised conceptual thought as speculative philosophies in the historical context of German classic philosophy. THEMES: 1. Introduction to the concept of Philosophy of History. Main stages of the development of historical conscience. The discovery of the historical world and the constitution of historical conscience in the XVIII century. Voltaire s philosophy of the history. 2. Speculative Philosophy of History I. Kant s philosophy of history. History inside Kant s systematic view. The origin of Kant s critical position regarding polemics with Herder. History and politics. Kant s notion of progress. 3. Speculative Philosophy of History II. The reflection on the history after Kant. Between enlightment and romanticism. The Fichte s Philosophy of the history. The Fichte s "Wissenschaftslehre" and the history. History and politics. The crisis of the republican paradigm and the rise of nationalism. 4. Speculative Philosophy of History III. Hegel: the "absolute idealism" and the history. History as the unfolding of the spirit. Universal spirit and spirit of the people. The Individuality in the history. The cunning of reason.
