The theoretical sessions will be largely based on powerpoint presentation in the lecture hall. Additional sources and material
will also be offered during the course, such as photocopiable
material, online links, etc. A weekly session is devoted to
guided practical activities.
Met. Avaluació
Students will be offered continuous assessment during the course. Those students who do not attend regularly will take a final exam and will have to submit a paper about a topic dealt with during the course.

Objetius
This is an introductory course to English sociolinguistics where different perspectives in the analysis of variation are examined. We shall consider variation and its effects on the linguistic production of native and non-native speakers of English in different contexts.
