OBJECTIVES: The aim of this subject is to provide the student some fundamentals on the form, operation and meaning of the simple sentence and its constituents in Spanish. This should be achieved through the reasoned description of the different types of word in the Spanish language (forms, function and meaning). This requires a previous introduction to define the elementary concepts of the linguistic theory which will allow a grammatical reflection later on.
