The subject of Phylosophical Greek has as its main objective to provide the student with the necessary philological tools to enable a wider, more complex understanding of Greek texts with philosophical contents. There are two basic themes: intrinsic aspects of the texts themselves and extrinsic aspects relative to Greek culture, necessary to achieve a full understanding of the context. The intrinsic aspects are related to texts specifically related to Plato. Learning Plato s language is done gradually, always using his texts in order to achieve a greater understanding of genuine words, expressions and sentence structure used by Plato with certain frequency. No previous knowledge of Greek language is necessary. |
