1. Basic knowledge of the discoveries, methodology and psychological theories of relevance for the practice of the Odontology.
2. Influence of the emotions, attitudes and experiences on illness and its treatment.

PSYCHOBIOLOGICAL BASES OF BEHAVIOUR

To provide students of the Licentiate of Odontology with theoretical basic knowledge on Behavioural Psychobiology. In this sense the most relevant aspects about the biological rhythms -fundamentally the physiologic mechanisms of sleep and wakefulness- will be studied. A series of topics will then approach -in an upgraded and rigorous way- the dysfunctions caused by anxiety and stress. We will then focus on analyzing the neurophysiological mechanisms of pain perception, and concrete aspects of emotion, activation and aggressive conduct. We will conclude the syllabus studying the more important aspects about the techniques of Relaxation and Biofeedback. The aim of this syllabus is to make students go deeply into those theoretical and applied aspects of the Psychobiology related to Health.
