In the current syllabus of the Social Work Diploma, of the University of Valencia, the Social Work placements are contemplated at the end of the studies, in the last term, with the objective that they constitute for the student a pre-professional experience. Its configuration in two core modules them: Practices of Intervention Level I (10,5 credits) and Level II (10,5 credits) equivalent both at 420 hours, responds to the necessity of adjusting us to the current normative.

In general lines, the development of the modules corresponding to the Practicum should facilitate the students:

- The knowledge of the current social necessities, through their immersion in institutions or organizations of social well-being.
- The knowledge of the professional exercise in all its dimensions.
- The identification and development of abilities and professional attitudes.
- The possibility to participate in investigation projects and intervention of Social Labour.

On the external practices the general objectives are the following ones:

- Propitiate the knowledge of the social reality of a population, area of necessity or community sector, and collaborate in a program or project of social intervention applying explicitly theoretical, methodological and technical knowledge characteristic of Social Labour at individual, familiar, group or community level.

- Reaffirm the ethical concepts of Social Work intervention
