Theoretical developments will be described in formal lectures. Practical sessions will be programmed to further analyse the theoretical concepts and their applications. Some of these practical sessions will include experimental verification, by simulation, of the properties of statistical procedures |

There will be a mid-term exam in February, a final exam in June and an extraordinary exam in September. Participation in practical sessions and activities proposed by the teacher will be considered. |

Definition and critical analysis of basic concepts in Mathematical Statistics. Analysis of the conditions under which it is possible to draw inferential conclusions from random samples, formalization of the mathematical structure of those conclusions, and derivation of their formal mathematical properties. Some applications. |
