CONTENTS
The aim of this subject is to complete the contents of the theoretical module of Optometry I, focusing on a practical demonstration of the theoretical ideas and specifically to familiarize the students with the optometric procedures and with the measuring instruments used to determe the patient's refractive state.
The practicals suggested here cover practically all the procedures studied in theory. The duration of each session is two and a half hours, although the final duration depends on the difficulty of the associated technique.

Practice 1: Introduction to using the retinoscope and neutralization of spherical ametropias.
Practice 2. - Recognition and neutralization of astigmatisms
Practice 3. - Retinoscopy in real eye
Practice 4. - Use of Javal and Helmholtz keratometers
Practice 5. - Preliminary tests and visual acuity depending on the ametropia.
Practice 6. - Positive maximum with maximum visual acuity (PMMVA) and bichromatic test
Practice 7. - Period test and second PMMVA.
Practice 8. - Determination and refining of the ocular astigmatism with JacksonÆs Crossed Cylinders.
Practice 9. - Ocular dominance, biocular balance and biocular PMMAV.
Practice 10. - Alternative tests for the refining of the spherical component of the refraction
Practice 11. - Measure of the accommodation width and determination of the near addiction in presbyopia
Practice 12. - Meridian refraction
