The aim of this subject - International Trade- is the study of the real part of the International Economy in three sections. First, an introductory lesson on the main basic issues in trade. Second, theoretical aspects of trade - comprising six lessons on why trade takes place, factors that influence its composition and behaviour, profit and loss for trading countries. Finally, market intervention (3 lessons): protectionism, trade institutions and analysis of commercial policies in developing countries. PROGRAM: I. - INTRODUCTION. Topic 1. - Main issues on trade. II. - THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF TRADE. Topic 2. - International trade (I) and comparative costs. Topic 3. - International trade and endowment of factors (I). - The Heckscher-Ohlin pattern. Topic 4. - International trade and endowment of factors (II). - The pattern of specific factors. Topic 5. - Modern theory of international trade (I). Topic 6. - Modern theory of international trade (II). Topic 7. - Trade and well-being. III. - MARKET INTERVENTION Topic 8. - Commercial policies (I). - Protective duties.
