Topic 1. From special education to the focus of diversity. Analysis of related concepts: special education, special educational necessities, learning difficulties, exceptional development. Deficiency, Handicap and Disability: the new proposals of the World Health Organization. Integration, inclusive school and attention to diversity. Topic 2. Development and education in students with special educational necessities derived from sensorial deficiencies. Visual deficiencies: concept, classification and etiology. Aspects related to the development of children with visual deficiencies: psychomotor, perceptive, cognitive social and communicative development. Educational implications. The auditory deficiencies: concept, classifications and etiology. Educational implications: predictive variables of major interest; intervention in the development of communication in deaf children.
