SYLLABUS:
Introduction. Basic concepts on the taking of data. Taking of physical-chemical data. Taking of biological data in plants. Taking of biological data in animals. Censuses: General concepts and sampling designs. Census methods. Trapping methods. Marking and follow-up methods.

OBJETIVES:
To know and to apply the scientific methodology in the resolution of problems that imply a field work. To know the methodology and the necessary instrumental for the taking and registration of different environmental parameters. To know the methodology and the necessary instrumental for the taking and conservation of biotic and abiotic samples. To know and to apply different census methods (direct and indirect) to count mobile and sessile organisms. To know and to apply different methods for the capture of organisms. To know the methodology and the necessary instrumental for the taking and registration of organisms biometric data in the field. To know the methodology for the taking and registration of data on the biology of organisms. To know and to apply different techniques of organism marking. To know the methodology and the necessary instrumental for the radiotracking of animals in freedom. To learn how to negotiate the available economic and time resources to carry out a project. To promote the critical discussion of the different techniques employed. To promote team work.
