SYLLABUS:
Methods. Regulation of physiological processes by environmental factors. Plant response to unfavorable conditions. Consequences of environmental pollution applications.

OBJETIVES:
Environmental Plant Physiology is a subject for students of Biology in their 4th and 5th courses. The aim is to give the students a complete and in-depth study of the main topics in Plant Physiology. To achieve this, we will focuss on methodology, instrumental techniques and design of experiments. The syllabus includes theoretical and practical lessons. Theory lessons give a brief introduction to general aspects on the effect of environmental factors on plants. We will then study the necessary methods (chemical, physical, nummerical) to initiate the study of interactions between physiological processes and environment. These methods are applied to the study of physiological processes, their regulation by environmental factors and adaptation to unfavorable conditions, the analysis and study of plant pollution. We finally consider the application of this module to agricultural production and to the detection of contaminants.
