SYLLABUS:
Introduction to Comparative Endocrinology. Internal secretory glands. Hormones. Basic Techniques in Endocrinology. Comparative study of hormone regulation in animals and endocrine organ functions. Biomedicine and Agricultural applications.

OBJECTIVES:
Along the study of Animal Regulatory Physiology the student should, first, increase its knowledge about physiological events that are regulated, in animals, by the direct or indirect action of chemical messengers (HORMONES). To achieve these effects by the end of the course the student should be familiar with: The physiological events that are being regulated. The characteristics and mode of action of the regulatory chemicals, their synthesis, secretion, and action mechanisms at their target sites. The relationships betwen the nervous and endocrin system has also been proposed as the major physiologycal and behavioral regulators.
